A romantic rendezvous in Edinburgh is the perfect way to strike a spark this Valentine’s Day. Whether you love or loathe the holiday, the 14th February is the perfect opportunity to impress your special someone. For a truly romantic evening, we’d recommend these 5 restaurants.
Tigerlily is a renowned restaurant in Scotland, and with good reason. Truly, there’s a little touch of luxury intertwined into all parts of the experience. The beautiful surroundings, delicious Scottish food and extensive cocktail list (including their refreshing Frosé cocktail) is a great way to wow your significant other.
This Valentines Day they are running a special set menu from which you can enjoy 3 courses and a cocktail for £45 per person. We’d recommend that your special sweetheart indulge their sweet tooth with some of Tigerlily’s scrumptious triple chocolate brownie jumbo cookies.
Fountain Court guests can enjoy a 20% food discount (not applicable with special Valentines menu)
Valentine Day doesn’t need to be about breaking the bank to shower someone in luxury. If you’re looking for something intimately quiet, head down to Novapizza. Their quiet and cosy restaurant, located near the bottom of Howe Street, is the perfect place to enjoy somebody’s company in intimate surroundings.
As a vegetarian kitchen they have a great offering for all diners, including a delicious vegetarian pepperoni pizza and Penne alla Vodka (that’s right, vodka.) Priding themselves on offering cruelty-free food that tastes delicious, their generous portion sizes are exactly what you need to kick your Valentines Day off the right way. And if that doesn’t sell you, how about tasty large pizza in intimate surroundings? This is definitely a great choice to surprise your loved one.

Nestled around the corner from Queen Street, The Magnum is a true hidden gem. This bistro-esque watering hole combines being a restaurant, pub, wine bar, and more to provide you with truly delicious dining.
We think what makes this truly stand out as a Valentines location is the unique atmosphere. Discovering your new favourite restaurant and straying from your beaten track might be just what you need to ignite a spark.
This Valentine’s Day you can even dive into delightful sharing dishes with your date. Try starting with a seafood sharing platter, followed by a cote de boeuf with a host of accompaniments. Finish off the meal with an assortment of chocolate with strawberries, and a fantastic prosecco jelly. This menu is limited to availability so book ahead if possible!
Fountain Court guests can enjoy a 15% discount on the total bill.

Anyone who says that romance is dead hasn’t visited The Stockbridge Restaurant. One of Edinburgh’s only family-run two AA Rosette restaurants, this candlelit basement restaurant offers the best of Scottish fine dining without the pretension.
They make for the perfect romantic evening, and don’t take out word for it: they were even listed by The Times as one of the Sexiest 20 Restaurants. The ivy-covered doorway situated at the foot of age-old stone steps opens onto an intimate space awash with character. Natural stone walls create an atmospheric ambience with a striking fireplace, overflowing with wax from candles burned out during intimate evenings of dining takes stance at the head of the room.
