Reception Recommends......

Our reception team are asked daily for recommendations of where to eat, shop, walk, drink, visit the list goes on and on!

Below are some recommendations for something maybe slightly off the beaten track and a bit different from the Castle!

Paul recommends.......

My ideal day out in Edinburghwould start with a traditional Scottish breakfast at a great little place called Always Sunday on the Royal Mile.  I'd then head to my favourite place in the city- Edinburgh Zoo.  It's a great place for all ages, be sure not to miss the comical Penguin Parade and the fantastic newly opened Rainbow Landings aviary.  To round the day off I'd enjoy a retro meal at the 50's themed Monster Mash cafe on Forest Road, followed drinks in some of the city's many watering holes.

Noelia suggests........

Dionika, a Spanish restaurant in Canonmills. Every time I go it's like feeling at home. The restaurant specialities include seasonal fish and seafood, paella, scallops, langoustines,of course, tapas.  If you can make it to the top, the view of the city from Arthur's seat is breathtaking.  For the brave amongst you the City of the Dead tour is very scary. I didn't see the poltergeist, though.
